“Innocence”

© 2013 Thousand Word Images by Dustin Abbott

This is a portrait that I share by permission. It has been rare for me to capture this particular expression with a child. Very serious, but with intense eye contact. The angle of the face is demure yet not cowering; the expression very frank. She is also adorable, so that helps. Her little spot in the tangle made this a natural fit in my mind for a painterly approach to this portrait.
