“Jacob’s Ladder”

I’ve had an idea about a “ladder to the sky” type image, but the weather has not been cooperating. No visible stars! But light pollution and low, heavy clouds do produce a unique glow in the sky, so I thought I’d give it a shot. I did some subtle light painting in the foreground to pick up the wet leaves and let the image exposure just long enough to get the glow in the sky that I wanted. I’ve added a touch more exposure to the ladder in post, but I love the overall drama of this shot.
