“The Cry of the Barren”

© 2013 Thousand Word Images by Dustin Abbott

Things change. Nature is a story of extremes. There are moments the foliage is so dense that you can scarcely penetrate it. There are moments that the only leaves to be seen are packed into a mush on the ground. The barren limbs of the tree await the harsh winter to come. Many will survive; some will not. It is the story of life…and the story of death. It is the cry of the barren, the aching desire to bring forth once again.
