“The Door to Jerusalem”

Along the journey throughout Israel a number of great old doors caught my eye. It is so different than the “Home Depot specials” that I see all over North America. Some of these are very old, long before a time where MDF or particle board ever existed. This particular door is one that you encounter just after exiting the Temple Mount and moving into the Arab quarter. It is one of several massive doors that were open when I went through, but could be closed to shut the area off. Such rich texture, and the old door knocker had so much personality that I lingered and shot it from multiple angles even while my group left me behind. If this door could talk…
