“Old Growth”

Towards the end of the school year I went on a class trip with my boys to a placed called “Shaw Woods”. My favorite aspect of the trip was a section of many acres of forest that have been protected from any kind of logging and represent a rare section of old growth forest. This path runs beneath a lot of old beech trees, which make for wonderful lines in a photo due to the extremely smooth bark and then a rich canopy of foliage higher up. I have gone for a fantasy look here by using some color infrared processing through Alien Skin and some actions. Here’s hoping this ends up on a book cover someday…
