“The Horseman of the Apocalypse”

© 2014 Thousand Word Images by Dustin Abbott

I spotted a large beetle (which I’ve tentatively identified as a Pine Sawyer Beetle) and shot some macros of it. When I viewed the full size images, however, I was very surprised by the shape of the head, which is somewhat akin to a horse. I thought of some of the strange creatures described in the Biblical book of Revelation and my title was birthed. Enjoy (or not!)
