“Late Summer Bliss”

© 2014 Thousand Word Images by Dustin Abbott

Right before fall hits there is a blissful period where the daytime temperatures remain warm, the mosquitoes have mostly died off (good riddance), and the light begins to change. A little more gentle, a little more directional, and prone to beautiful skies in the late evening. The fields are full of a diversity of colors. I got this image on just such an evening. Perfect timing, too, as I am currently reviewing a new trio of lenses, including this one: the new Canon 16-35mm f/4L IS. It is a sweetheart, and already widely accepted as Canon best wide angle zoom. I also wanted to share this image as a an example of my new preferred method of exposure blending, which is simple and produces natural results. Here is a link to my video tutorial on how it works. Have a great week!
