“Snow Bokeh”

Since I live in Canada, I have a fair amount of experience shooting in snowy conditions. We have continual snow cover for about 4-5 months of the year on average. So believe me when I saw that capturing falling snow is easier said than done. I’ve done some images where I used a slow shutter speed to capture the pattern of falling snow. Still, I don’t know that I’ve ever capture an image before where the individual snowflakes were so clearly defined as they fall. What I love about this image is the tremendous variety of depth of the snowflakes – they resolve as ever larger bokeh highlights as their distance from the camera grows. Once again the size of the image may not allow you to see how amazingly sharp the foreground “weeds” are, but I will include some crops in my upcoming review. There is still some of autumn’s color palette in this photo – and that really helps the beauty!
