“Winter at f/1.4”

© 2014 Thousand Word Images by Dustin Abbott

What an amazing experience to be out in a snowstorm with a beautiful precision instrument like the Otus 85mm. I don’t know that I’ve ever shot landscapes at f/1.4 before, and certainly not with results like this. I wish you could see how sharply rendered the tamaracks are in the distance, and the beautiful foreground blur really allows the eye to dwell where it should without distraction. It’s going to be a sad day when I have to return this one back to Zeiss!
