Beaver Dam(age)

© 2015 Thousand Word Images by Dustin Abbott

If you look at the end of the dead wood that I’ve used to anchor the foreground of this photo you will see the unmistakable pattern of a beaver’s teeth. This tree was felled by a beaver and now resembles driftwood more than anything. I used a combination of a ND1000 filter along with a .9 ND Grad (3 stops) to balance the sky and foreground. This is a single 30 second exposure that I’ve just given some color toning and a bit of vignetting. I used the FotodioX Pro WonderPana filter system to get the shot.

Gear Used:

Canon EOS 6D DSLR Camera (Body Only)
Tamron SP 15-30mm f/2.8 Di VC USD Lens (Canon EF)
FotodioX Pro WonderPana FreeArc Filter System
Adobe Lightroom CC Software for Mac and Windows (Boxed Version)
Adobe Photoshop Creative Cloud 1-Year Subscription
Alien Skin Exposure 7 (Use Code “dustinabbott” to get 10% anything and everything)
