This shot is a doorway into childhood, the secret garden of a child’s formative years. Moments when thy seem so grown up; moments when they seem so very young. In this moody setting the young girl shows joy and promise. Her smile reflects her happiness over being dressed up and feeling grown up. She will discover, unfortunately, that being grown up isn’t all it’s cracked up to be. And so I, her father, will treasure these moments when, to me, she is still a child.
