“Last Light of the Day”

© 2015 Thousand Word Images by Dustin Abbott

Here’s another share from the Canon EF 100-400mm f/4.5-5.6L IS USM II. It’s a stunningly good lens. I hope to have a chance to go and shoot wildlife at a preserve on Friday (finding things that are moving in the wild right now is next to impossible; it’s COLD here!) In the meantime, however, I wanted to share a shot that shows the versatility of the lens. It works well as a landscape lens as well. This shot was taken out on the frozen surface of the Ottawa River. The last light of the day is reflected in a ribbon of ice that someone has plowed for driving out onto the river to get to their ice shack. I literally saw cars racing on an ice track out on the river in a different spot on Sunday. Weird!
