“Last Year’s Oaks”

© 2015 Thousand Word Images by Dustin Abbott

As I travel further south in both the Eastern US and the Midwest I notice the rapid decrease of maples (very prominent in Canada) and the increasing number of oaks. There are some beautiful (and massive) oak trees throughout the US, and I enjoy seeing the lingering leaves on them even after a long winter that add a little color. This scene is in the Ozarks of Missouri, and it was one of those misty, foggy mornings that are common there. I loved the atmosphere of this image. Have you read my most recent review?
