“I Shoot Stars”

© 2015 Thousand Word Images by Dustin Abbott

Here is a self portrait shot last night while out doing some nightscapes and comparisons of a variety of lenses in that kind of setting. My old standby (Rokinon 14mm f/2.8) continues to be a great performer in this setting. I used a remote release and my LED headlamp to shoot my own light into the sky as I watched the stars. This old ramshackle storage building with it’s fancy window has been my friend on many occasions. It’s an amazing experience to be out under the stars.
