“The Things We Treasure”

© 2016 Thousand Word Images by Dustin Abbott

It’s sometimes crazy to think about the things that we treasure. Things that we say we value but hide away, saving them for some special moment that never arrives. Art in a vault, China in a cabinet, rare coins in safes, and jewelry too nice and too valuable to ever wear. Wine that sits in a cellar but is too special to drink. Or maybe it is people that we treasure but never let them know. The moment just never comes. But life isn’t a museum; it’s a collection of experiences. Perhaps it is time to stop collecting treasures and rather time to start creating memories.  If you want to collect treasure, choose the right place to store it – in your heart, and in heaven for eternity.  Matthew 6:19-21

  1. Dustin, I very much like your work. I too have a “blog” called http://www.photojournalchronicles.com and hope you might take time to visit my efforts. I recently changed the title to The Covenant Chronicles given my relatively new emersion in to God’s Word through my wonderful church. My greatest hope, God willing, is that as each of us speaks from our hearts about our relationship with the Lord, that our ‘covenant’ with Him will branch out extending The Vine to who knows where?

All the best and God bless. It was a joy to find your site and blog. I wrote a poem about a silver fox and thought I might find something: yours came up on Google. I was stunned with the one image that looks more like a pen/pencil drawing than a photograph! Wonderful.
