Out With the Old…In With the New

Sigma 50-100mm f/1.8 DC HSM ART

This shot is all about the new – a new camera body (Canon EOS 80D) and a new lens (Sigma 50-100mm f/1.8 ART). I’ve focused on the old lilac seed pods, but beyond you can see the new buds appearing. So far I’m very impressed with the new Sigma lens – great sharpness wide open (unsurprising) and excellent focus accuracy out of the box (very surprising). 100mm and f/1.8 can clearly produce a very shallow depth of field, making this a compelling options for those who shoot APS-C (crop sensor) bodies.
