Day’s End (Tamron 85mm f/1.8 VC)

© 2016 Thousand Word Images by Dustin Abbott

As you can tell, I’m really enjoying using the new Tamron SP 85mm f/1.8 VC. It’s just a fabulous lens, period, and there is really little to criticize about it. I used it for landscape purposes yesterday, and it didn’t disappoint. This is but one shot of many where it delighted me with its sharpness and color rendition.  I caught this one at days end yesterday and the colors were just as vivid as what you see here. Very sharp even at f/1.8, and even better stopped down to f/2.8 or f/4 for that purpose. I’ve not shot it at any narrower aperture than that because I haven’t needed to. Many more images here:  You can see my first look video where I break down the size, build, and handling of the lens here:  My full review will come in another week.
