© 2016 Thousand Word Images by Dustin Abbott

I wanted to test the Laowa STF 105mm f/2 (T3.2) as a portrait lens, so I had my daughter pose for me. This shot is wide open, and shows off the nice bokeh produced in particularly by the APD element in this lens. It can be a bit of challenge to focus (even for an experienced MF shooter like myself), but I had quite good results with this closer distance portrait series. Hard to argue with the results here, as the look of the portrait is really quite nice. I liked the color images, too, but this shot was slightly overexposed and worked better as a monochrome. I liked it, and so chose to share it. You can see other shots from the series in the lens image gallery here: http://bit.ly/1XYKumd
