Milky Way Rising

© 2016 Thousand Word Images by Dustin Abbott

This week’s lens review focus is on finishing up my coverage of the brand new Zeiss Milvus Distagon 18mm f/2.8. A definite area of strength for the lens is in the astrophotography department. I shot this one a few nights ago. One thing you don’t think about (or at least I didn’t before becoming a night photographer) is that the position of the galaxy shifts with the passing of the seasons. Autumn is the best time where I live to get the Milky Way lined up with one of my favorite (local) astrophotography shooting sites.
