“A Winter Dream” (Fairmont Tremblant)

© 2017 Thousand Word Images by Dustin Abbott

This last weekend I had an opportunity to do a new type of photography (for me). I was hired by the storied Fairmont Hotels brand to come and shoot fresh branding photography for their Tremblant location, which is the jewel of the Mont Tremblant ski resort which is consistently the top rated ski resort in the Northeast. Lana and I had a great time, and I got a lot of photos that I’m proud of.  I’ve always loved Mont Tremblant, and I believe this is the sixth time I’ve visited there. Although I took a load of high end glass for the trip, I actually shot this one with my tiny little Voigtländer 20mm f/3.5 “pancake” prime, which sharpens up nicely when stopped down. The Fairmont is on the right, with the pedestrian village at the base of the mountain on the left. The light is often magical in Tremblant, and this shot is proof. There are moments that Tremblant feels like a winter dream. You can see an older article I wrote on Tremblant here
