I get it – Niagara Falls has been shot literally millions of times. I was just there for a conference this weekend, and tried to find something fresh and unique to share. What caught my eye was this lone, bare tree on a cold night. The lights on the main falls (Horseshoe Falls) was a blue, moody color, and the constant mist was so prevalent that it almost obscured the falls. It provided a great canvas to silhouette the tree against, with hints of the falls themselves on either side. The new Tamron 10-24 VC HLD has fantastic image stabilization, so handholding this 1/6th second image was easy, giving me a little more blur on the water and allowing me to keep the ISO from skyrocketing for this image.
