The release of Tamron’s new 28-75mm f/2.8 RXD lens provided me a natural opportunity to bring in the premium lens in the class for Sony FE – the Sony 24-70mm f/2.8 G Master lens.  The Sony G Master approach is to give shooters both tremendous resolution along with smooth, pleasing bokeh.  My review will examine whether or not Sony succeeded in this goal.  There will be a number of comparisons made to the Tamron lens, as while the focal lengths aren’t identical, there are a lot of people deciding whether the Tamron is “enough” for them at almost 1/3rd the price.  But for those that want the best, the Sony 24-70mm GM remains the premium choice.  Check back often for new photos and coverage…and watch for the final review coming soon!
