Hi, I'm Dustin Abbott, and I'm here today to give you a look at and review of these S-Zero wired buds slash studio monitors
0:17
And these are from the company Brainwaves. I've reviewed a few of their products before
0:22
And so today I'm giving you a closer look at these buds
0:26
Now, we're going to jump in and we're going to take a closer look
0:31
I'm going to show you kind of some of the design and the features, and then I'll come back at the very end with a little bit of a sound ysis for you
0:39
Okay, the brainwaves S-0 are a set of wired. They actually call these not just earbuds but monitors
0:48
and so it indicates the kind of seriousness of the actual sound quality of them
0:54
So one of the things that they highlight is the fact that rather than being, plastic that these are all metal construction. As you can see, taking a look inside the case
1:02
lots of good stuff going on here. I mean, you've got different accessories, you know, clip
1:06
if you want that to control a cord management. It comes with some comply, premium earphone tips
1:14
memory foam, the S-400s. I'm quite a fan of using these because I just find you get a tighter seal
1:21
in the ear and you get even better sounding image quality out of them. They will break down
1:26
after a while, however, just with regular use. And so note that if you use the memory foam tips
1:32
you're probably gonna have to replace them, you know, probably once a year or so
1:37
The actual headphones themselves looking at them cool little management strap there for the cord And so you got a lay flat kind of cable here And so that nice
1:49
You know, it's easy to hide underneath something. And it's not going to kink up or you're going to have issues like with tangles
1:56
So, you know, that's a plus there. Now, looking at a few things here, I do want to highlight
2:03
Number one, you've got, you know, an inline actual control. or remote as a part of that
2:10
And so it's got a microphone there. You've got the pretty standard three button configuration
2:16
one that you can use to play and pause or, you know
2:20
to repeatedly tap to advance track or, you know, go back, that kind of thing
2:25
You know, to take calls, all those, you know, general purpose things that we're all familiar with at this point
2:30
And then you have a up and down volume. And so one thing that does stand out here is that
2:37
And while I like sometimes for that play pause button to be somewhere else away from the actual volume up and down buttons, at least on a positive note, there is very much a different textural feel to that play pause button
2:52
It's a little bit, it's raised a little bit higher than the other two buttons. And so it is easy to find just by feel, which is really important because that's the way you're going to control these most of the time
3:03
Now beyond that, I mean, everything's pretty straightforward here. you have a huge variety of beyond I've showed you the comply tips but also
3:11
included in the package here the case is a huge amount of other options for tips that you can use to put in the headphones so I mean I just dump them out here to give you an idea visually And so you got kind of the double in ear type tips You have got the memory phone ones concluded
3:34
and you've got the standard tips included also. So, I mean, if you can't find something that suits your ears
3:41
then it's not because they haven't given it a very good shot here at this point
3:45
Now, as far as the actual control itself, it uses the MEMS or the microelectrical mechanical system type control, and so, I mean, fully compatible with iOS, for example, and so it does all that stuff you'd want
4:01
Now, I mean, nothing here is blowing your mind in terms of featureless, but the plus here is when you slip these puppies into your ear, and the sound quality really is fantastic out of them
4:15
days, I have to confess, I vastly prefer wireless type headphones, you know, just we move to an age
4:23
where you don't have to use them. But if you're going to use a pair of wired earbuds, it is
4:28
hard to best these. These are the best sounding ones that I have used, I think of any brand
4:34
at this point. And so that's saying a lot. They really do have fantastic sound, very balanced
4:40
very rich, very strong low end on them. And so, but at the same time, they're not boomy or
4:45
or unbalanced in that sense. So a whole lot of plus going on there
4:49
and certainly I give them a high recommendation when it comes to that
4:53
They come with a two year warranty so that certainly is a plus
4:58
Comes to that, they're standing by the product. These can be had for 4950 So as I noted these are really really fantastic sounding headphones I would say that these are the best sounding buds that I have ever used before And they definitely even a step further than the last wired buds from them that I use
5:18
As I noted in the hands-on portion, I'm not crazy about wires these days because I have access to so many headphones without wires
5:27
At the same time, however, it's hard to argue with the performance of these. And I know in some cases, there are those of you that aren't looking for a wireless set of buds
5:34
You just want something that is reliable. You don't have to worry about charging them. You don't have to worry about them going dead on you
5:40
If so, and sound quality is a priority. Sound isolation is a priority
5:45
These do a fantastic job. They really, really do isolate sound. They're not active sound isolating
5:53
They're passive. They do a great job, however. And tons of volume
5:57
I tried a variety of musical styles and video and it just performed really, really well
6:06
So they're well worth a listen. So I would encourage you to take a listen at these
