Hi, I'm Dustin Abbott and I am here today to give you a quick review of a different kind of camera
0:15
strap. This is from Moon made of leather and I'm gonna look at a couple of their different styles
0:21
here today, but we're also going to be doing a giveaway. So stay tuned until the end and I'll
0:25
tell you how that you can get one of these one of two that we're giving away for free and so today
0:31
we're going to just take a quick look at what you're getting here and what you're getting for
0:36
your money. So Moon is a Latvian company that specializes in this right here making very
0:43
stylish kind of hipster camera straps and if you remember some of you I did a review a year and a
0:49
half couple of years ago where I reviewed their kind of dual straps and I use them and I've used
0:54
that for shooting some events and weddings and even just going out on hiking to carry a couple
0:59
of cameras at the same time. Those are quite a bit more expensive and so today I'm looking at
1:04
the lower price options. If you're looking for more of an upgrade to your basic camera strap
1:10
that came with your camera, something that has more style and maybe even a little bit more
1:14
functionality. And so we're going to jump in hands-on and take a closer look at the design
1:20
of these straps. Let's take a look. So taking a closer look here
1:24
we have both the wide and then the light strap here And so both of them are made out of beautiful actual leather here And so the nice thing about you know a real leather product is that you know will pick
1:38
up some marks and scratching along the way, but really what it does is it adds character to it all
1:44
And so it's stamped at various points, you know, showing off the moon brand. And so, you know
1:49
a very nice kind of cowhide here. And so connection points here at this point are kind of
1:54
a standard kind of loop through device that probably your camera strap that came with your
2:01
camera is much alike. So with the wide strap, you only have a certain degree of adjustment. And so
2:06
if there's a chief criticism I have of it, it's mainly that. Of course, with the wider strap
2:11
portion, it is the more comfortable of the two. And so far I've carried this extensively in a lot
2:18
situations and had zero problems. Now, the other strap is the light here. And so it has a connection
2:26
point of just a, almost like a small key ring. And so that can go right through your loop there
2:33
If there's a criticism I have here, it's that I find these are sometimes a little bit of a pain
2:38
You know, you get a fingernail in there. Sometimes you cut up under your fingernail. And so it's kind
2:43
of nicer if you can attach it and then leave it attached. And then this one does have a broader range of adjustment
2:51
as you can see here. And so a nice thing about that I also like the way that it kind of doubles up because I find that the doubling up just kind of helps the weight to carry better You don it doesn feel like it cutting into you at all There is an adjustment range And so the strap can be anywhere between 85 and 130 centimeters And so um anyway uh
3:12
that's certainly a nice aspect of that variety of different colors. It's the same kind of a nice
3:17
top grain leather. Um, and so, but you know, in a thin and lightweight, nice thing about this one
3:23
of course, is it's really easy to, you know, kind of roll up and to pack along if you want to do
3:27
that. And so both of them are, you know, really nice and definitely add a style element. So as
3:33
you can see, these are very stylish. And I've had a number of you ask about this particular strap
3:38
because it's just shown up here and there. And some of my shots are on my videos. It basically
3:43
hasn't left my A9, which I've got it mounted on because it's just a really fantastic strap. I'm
3:49
having a great time with it. It's functional, it looks great, and also I find that the wide leather
3:56
here actually is quite comfortable for carrying even long distances. Yesterday I went out and I'm
4:02
testing the 100-400 GM lat right now on the A9, so a fairly large lens, and I just used this strap
4:10
as I have designed right now. I had zero problems. It worked great for that. So, you know, the only
4:16
that I'll criticize here is that you don't have a lot of flexibility over the range of motion on this strap
4:21
The other strap, the light is a little bit better for that and gives you a little bit more flexibility And so I wish I could combine those two components but it the nature of this particular design that does limit that So in terms of the price
4:35
I think that for getting a nice leather product, you are not paying all that much for the light
4:42
strap. It's $39 US, $50 for this wider leather strap. And so, you know, really not much more
4:50
than a leather belt. They have a variety of different styles you might want to check out
4:55
on their website, which I'll throw a link to down below. And so you can shop there and take a look
5:00
