For your photography dessert, I serve up a course of Maple Bokeh Delight. Here's my conundrum: I own the EF 35mm f/2 lens, and recently got the EF 40mm f/2.8 STM pancake lens, intending to only keep one of them. I did some head to head testing today, but the problem is that they are both pretty delightful. The 40mm - which is a very cool little lens, BTW - is sharper wide open, but they are probably equally sharp when the 35mm is stopped down to f/2.8. The bokeh is probably a little smoother on the 40mm, but look at this lead image from the 35mm, wide open, and that isn't too shabby! I have cropped these to equal size, but they are basically sooc. Any opinions?
