I received an old, somewhat beat-up copy of a Soviet made Helios 44-2 M42 lens that I had ordered (with shipping from Russia for $24) yesterday. The body has lots of wear, but the glass was great, and I wanted to try this lens because of it's swirly bokeh. I look forward to shooting some vintage style portraits with it. I shot this wide open yesterday with the old lens, and love the beautiful result. This is straight out of camera with the exception of very slight contrast boost and the addition of my signature.
Technical info: Canon EOS 5D MKII, Helios 44-2 58mm f/2. M42 lens, Hoya Circular Polarizing filter, Signature added in Photoshop CS5
