“Dried Elegance”

© 2013 Thousand Word Images by Dustin Abbott

It’s a little harder to do a macro lens review in the dead of winter, as most of the traditional macro subjects are pretty deeply buried here in Ontario. I found a few nice options nonetheless, and this shot helps to illustrate how that have stabilization (VC for the Tamron) makes a big difference in being able to shoot handheld macro shots. This is the dried remains of a plan in the garden that is just barely sticking out of a blanket of snow. It gave me a nice subject with a certain elegant grace despite the dried condition. I have just published my review of this excellent lens. You can read it here if you would like.
