“Lionfish”

© 2014 Thousand Word Images by Dustin Abbott

Here’s another shot from the “aquarium series”. This is a lionfish, one of several species of venomous fish. It has a very unique appearance – one that I enjoyed capturing. I’ve written a new article on how to effectively use a circular polarizer in this kind of setting to eliminate glare and get you “in there”. You can read it here if you haven’t already.

Technical information Canon EOS 6D, Canon EF 70-300L, Hoya Circular Polarizer, Processed in Adobe Lightroom 5, Photoshop CS5, and Alien Skin Exposure 5
