“Path to the Catacombs”

© 2014 Thousand Word Images by Dustin Abbott

Over the next week or so, we will be visiting Rome together. Rome is a fascinating place, and there is no lack of “touristy” things to shoot, and I may share a few of those. But I also like to share other more “photographer-like” moments. I think of these as the moments when a photographer notices something that others do not. This image, for example, I saw in the midst of a cold rain as we were about to enter the Catacombs. The Catacombs, are, frankly, a little creepy, and I found this photo gives a sense of the darkness and mood of the place even though taken outside of it. Enjoy!
