myself, except for I'm using one that is

In this case, many of you don't need

that big. And so, Luba offers a mini

mower that allows you to save some

money, but also have a mower that is a

better fit maybe for the size of your

yard. This comes in two flavors. You can

get the Mini 800 or the Mini 1500. This

is the 1500 that I'm going to be

unboxing, testing, and reviewing as a

So earlier in the year, I actually

to travel for several weeks. It had

last few weeks to try to resuscitate the

Okay, we've got everything all set up.

By what I clocked on the camera itself,

it seemed to take me about 15 minutes to

get everything set up. That included

working in two different locations and

way. So, the setup is really quite

simple. You're just going to have to

mount on the camera at the top of the

unit. And basically, everything beyond

that is a simple matter of setting up a

few simple steps on the docking station

and then the reference station. Now, a

couple of things that I do want to point

out about that. First of all, you can

see I've got it set up here next to the

full size Luba all-wheel drive. You can

see that the reference station, which is

is much smaller here in the mini. and

and so that reflects the fact that it's

designed to use in smaller lawns and

smaller situations. However, I will

raise the point that I've just set it up

here in the ground as I have with the

original unit. But if you happen to be

setting up your reference station maybe

a ways away from where the actual mower

is going to be operating, you may be

better served putting it on the side of

a building or up in a higher position

depending on how far it's going to have

to communicate. The reference station is

all about communication. That's how that

you're able to communicate really to the

from the app to the mower unless you're

close enough to the mower to establish a

Bluetooth connection. And it's through

the reference station that it helps to

not only to keep everything mapped, but

precision. So, it's really important two

things to have this set up in an area

where it can communicate well. But

number two, make sure that when you're

adding the mower into the app to set it

station. My neighbor next door when he

bought his, he finally came over and

knocked on my door and says, "Hey man,

can you help me get it set up?" He had

done everything right except for one

step. He had forgotten to add the

reference station in the app. Uh not and

so he added the mower but not the

reference station. And so he wasn't able

to properly communicate. And so be sure

to do all of that. One other thing is

that right now I've just got things

quickly hooked up and I'm only using one

outlet here because I have got the

docking station for the mower and the

reference station in the same location.

If you're doing that, you can actually

plug the reference station into the

one power outlet. However, if you have

that is good. So next step is we're

going to set this up in the actual app.

We're going to map out the space and

I have been using the Luba all-wheel

drive Mini for a little over a month at

this point, and I've exclusively had it

cutting this area. So, now that I've

used it for a while, I feel like I can

come back to you and report on how well

that has gone. and then also the things

that stood out to me that I liked and a

few things that I didn't like as well.

So, let's jump in and talk to some of

the things that I like. I really really

love the whole Mimotion kind of

ecosystem. So, for example, my lawn's

been a bit of a mess this year and so I

involved some professional help and I

got the weed man to start to come and so

one of the first things that they said

to me is that you're cutting your lawn

too low. You need to have the cut at a

higher height to help to uh you know to

shade off those those weeds. says,

felt like it was kind of trial and error

perfect lines. And though my lawn still

isn't great, you can see how that you

reliable. And one thing that I will note

also know with this particular unit, it

is an all-wheel drive unit, and over the

whole time I've had it cutting, that

includes going down into a bit of a

gully at the front of my property, it's

never gotten stuck one time. Uh, when

they say it can tackle steep grades that

it's all-wheel drive, literally nothing

stops that thing. It just keeps going.

And I've had zero issues with it. I've

not had to go out and rescue it once

during that time. So, that's great. It

is also super super quiet. And you may

have picked up on the fact that I'm

filming while it is running right next

to me. It's no problem because frankly

at the distance it is from me right now,

20 ft or so, I can't hear that it's

running at all. It's only when it's

basically right next to me that I can

hear it. And so, that means that you can

home one time and I saw a light moving

And so a lot of just great things. It's

thing. So, how about some things that I

don't like? Well, as you can see here,

as I demonstrate, if I flip these units

over, the cutting deck here on the Mini

is only a single deck. And so, while it

does have six blades instead of four on

that deck, it is only about 7.9 in wide,

whereas the my Luba 2 is double that.

And so it means that it's cutting a much

smaller swath every time, which means

that it takes that much longer to cut.

This is definitely better for a smaller

lawn because it basically has to uh do

amount of area compared to the bigger

luba unit. And so I do just find that

the task that I'm kind of familiar after

years of essentially in my head I know

section of the lawn. Well, I'm having to

that these smaller row lines to me don't

look as good on a bigger lawn. Again, on

more appropriate. I like the bigger path

on um of the the Luba 2 uh as opposed to

the mini, at least on my lawn, which is

very large and obvious at that point.

And obviously it is going to need more

buy appropriate to your lawn size. I

would say that if you have a lawn that

adequately, I think I would move up to

the full size Luba if you're willing to

spend the extra money. I just feel like
