“What Comes Naturally”

© 2013 Thousand Word Images by Dustin Abbott

This is an image that has both artistic and sentimental value. For me, photography is primarily a solo pursuit. You can guarantee that dawn shots are solo acts! But on this particular autumn night, my favorite little lady agreed to accompany me out to shoot some nightscapes. I love the experience anyway, but having her there with me under the stars made it all the more special. But there is one more sentimental element…and that leads to my title. The lighting on the buildings is actually ambient light from a road behind the camera position. A thirty second exposure is a long time to wait, and when you have a beautiful woman with you under the stars, it is only natural to gather her into your arms and do what comes naturally. You will find the evidence on the front facia of the old shack…
