“Bittersweet”
© 2016 Thousand Word Images by Dustin AbbottThis is my favorite time of year for walks in the woods. It is one breathtaking scene after another. The crunch of fallen leaves under your feet, and the constant movement as leaves drift towards the ground. And the colors! Even a drab day like yesterday (when I shot this image) resounds with life because of the colors of nature. And yet there is melancholy there, too. I witness the end of the season of life and growth, and there is a tinge of bittersweet. It’s all part of what makes the season so special.
