I discovered an incredible location not far from where I live. It is near an Ontario, Canada community estabilished by Polish immigrants, and retains a strong Polish heritage. I was driving along, enjoying the fall foliage, when I saw this incredble mound and what appeared like a ruin, but is, in fact, a monument erected to honor the brave Poles who fell in the Warsaw uprising along with those who perished in Nazi concentration camps. It is a powerful place, and I found the quiet solitude of it moving. It is called “Szare Szeregi”. I’ve added some texture along with the rainbow in post for mood and effect (thanks to Jessica Drossin for the overlay!). I shot this with the Zeiss Milvus 2/50M lens, which I am evluation and reviewing at the moment. You can see more photos from the lens and monument here: http://bit.ly/milvus250mig
