“Steps to the Moon”
© 2017 Thousand Word Images by Dustin Abbott
Every now and then I want to stretch a few creative muscles. I shot this original image with a very empty, washed out sky behind it. It was screaming for something more dramatic, particularly from the angle (and depth of field) that I shot it from. This structure has a somewhat mystical feel to it, and so I went creative. I composited in the moon from another shot (this would be impossible with a 50mm lens!), and went from day to night in the processing. The end result suits my creative vision over how the scene would have looked as something out of a fantasy. I hope you enjoy these steps to the moon.
