The Way We Were
© 2017 Thousand Word Images by Dustin Abbott
The march of time is irresistable. We all get older day by day. I’ve been blessed with a lovely wife who is aging magnificently and I am deeply in love with after more than 20 years of marriage. Still, the two of us had a little nostalgia as we looked at a portrait series I did of her about six years ago (when she was still in her 30s). Lovely. The way we were…but I wouldn’t trade it for the way we are. We don’t get to choose to live in the past…or the future. We are firmly affixed in the present, and I’m thankful for this beautiful life that we have together.
