The Frozen North

© 2018 Thousand Word Images by Dustin Abbott

This winter has been more than a little weird. It’s been either incredibly cold or unseasonably warm. A couple days ago the temperature went from around -4 C to -30 C within a few hours. I was out cross country skiing as the cold front moved in, and it was like a minor frozen hurricane, with huge winds and very quick precipitation changes. It’s made shooting landscapes challenging, and this particular shot (with the sun shining) required me to shoot in sub -20 C temperatures (which gets old fast!) I guess they call Canada the “Frozen North” for a reason.| My first look at the new Laowa 15mm f/2 Zero D lens here:  | #photodujour #dustinabbott #photography #sony #a7r3 #a7riii #laowa #215zerod
