In mid 2020, I reviewed the Samyang RF 85mm F1.4 autofocus lens, a lens that I really liked and gave a very positive review of because it was a good performing third party lens that came at a reasonable price ($699 USD).  Canon’s own RF 85mm F1.2L is an amazing, amazing lens (you can read […] [Read more...]

August 12, 2021 7Artisans 60mm F2.8 Macro MK II Gallery and Review

The past several years have seen the rise of a number of new Chinese lens makers, many of which follow a fairly typical blueprint of lens design.  Metal construction, full manual focus and aperture control, and no electronics.  Many of those early lenses had nice construction in terms of materials, but there were some [Read more...]

July 28, 2021 TTArtisan 7.5mm F2 Fisheye Review and Image Gallery

My first experience with a fisheye was actually with another TTArtisans lens, in this case the TTArtisans 11mm F2.8 Fisheye I reviewed in 2020. Fisheye lenses are unique and far from traditional, as typically we are looking for minimal distortion while the fisheye effect is really all about distortion.  That does provide a [Read more...]
