I’ve reviewed portable power stations and solar panels from 4 different companies at this point, but the Growatt Infinity 1500 portable power station and UPS system is my favorite thus far if you are looking for serious backup performance.  I break down the various strengths in my video review below, but here are a few reasons why the Infinity 1500 stood out to me.

• Larger capacity battery (1512Wh lithium ion) allows for higher output (2000W continuous and 4000W peak) = can power several devices I was unable to successfully power with lesser power stations

• Internalized power supply allows the unit to charge at a much higher rate than previous units – up to 1500w.  

• Can charge in as little as 2 hours from AC and as little as 2.5 hours from solar (800W panel in ideal conditions)

• True UPS functionality – can pass through power (no wear and tear on battery) and switch over to backup power in under 20ms.

• Smart APP control allows remote monitoring with individualized breakdown by port

The only real negative I can point to is that it is less portable than some competing units at 36 pounds of weight.  The price point of $1279 USD is quite reasonable compared to competitors, particularly if you want to use it as a UPS.  Most other power stations would require a lot more electrical know-how (relays, etc…), whereas the Growatt Infinity 1500 is pretty much “plug-and-play”.  Get my thoughts plus those of an electrician I brought in for my review in the video below.
