Soundcore Liberty 4 Pro ANC Earbuds Review

Dustin Abbott

February 13th, 2025

Last year I reviewed the Soundcore Liberty 3 Pro earbuds, and I gave them a bit of a mixed review.  On the plus side, I loved the sound quality, very effective ANC, the packaging, and the integration of software features.  On the negative side, I had three primary disappointments 1) couldn’t get a good fit 2) found that getting the buds seated in the case to charge was clunky and 3) long term found out that battery life when using ANC was limiting.  While I was reluctant to move to an earbud with the AirPod style stem, it does seem to have solved a lot of the Liberty 3 problems.  The Liberty 4 Pros last longer, sound even better, charge faster, and fit better.  At $130 or less, they represent amazing value for a truly premium earbud.

Things I Like

  • Outstanding audio quality for both music and video.  Perhaps the best audio quality I’ve found in an earbud
  • Noticeably superior Bluetooth range to the many other Bluetooth buds I’ve owned
  • Dual connection mode means that I don’t have to disconnect my iPhone to use on my iPad, etc…
  • Being able to finetune levels of ANC work really well.
  • Very effective ANC performance – you can hear the silence build as you amp up ANC
  • Personalized HearID ANC mode, hearing test, and EQ calibration based on my hearing is great
  • Transparency mode has been very helpful in mitigating conflicts with my wife!
  • Allowed me to block out sound of jets in Jacuzzi and watch a movie
  • Extremely precise charge levels
  • Using transparency mode during zoom meetings made me feel less disconnected
  • Very definite magnetic seating and charging
  • Getting away from ear wings
  • Can actually hear while I’m brushing my teeth
  • A lot of volume – typically operating at under 50% rather than having to using at 80% or more like some other earbuds.

Things I Don’t Like

  • Pinching rather than tapping seems less responsive
  • Buttons would probably work better than touch bar

Conclusion

The Anker Soundcore Liberty 4 Pro ANC earbuds have hit the sweet spot for me, and I haven’t stopped using them over all my other buds since they arrived. They are a medium priced earbud at $129, but deliver a premium performance that rivals and surpasses buds costing 2 and 3x as much. Just get them!
