A step back to January and my last major wildlife shoot. I was able to shoot from a raised platform above this fox, which gave me a nicely unique perspective for this “portrait”. Although I love the rich color of a fox’s fur, I decided to go with a monochrome approach with slightly blown out highlights to emphasize the structure of the eyes, muzzle, and ears. Snow provided a high key backdrop, and the compression from the long lens I was shooting with helps give this a look that I really like.
