While I’ve done a wide variety of reviews along the way, I’ve rarely taken on the challenge of reviewing super-teles from any brand. That kind of lens isn’t really a part of my personal workflow, and I feel that the kinds of tests needed for such a lens are somewhat outside the scope of my typical testing process. But I had an opportunity to visit a wildlife preserve, so I approached Sigma about reviewing their flagship “hyper-telefoto” – the Sigma 500mm F4 Sport. The 500mm Sport is a serious telephoto option (as I think you’ll see from these photos). I’m doing these tests and comparisons on the Canon 5D Mark IV along with Sony a7RIII (via Sigma MC-11 mount converter) Stay tuned for my review of the lens!
