Sigma 150-600mm f/5-6.3 Sport Build Quality

Dustin Abbott

May 9th, 2015

I’ve been spending some quality time with Sigma’s new 150-600mm f/5-6.3 DG OS HSM Sport lens and comparing it to the Tamron SP 150-600mm f/5-6.3 Di VC USD lens that I’m so familiar with.  While the two lenses share a lot of similarities, they are surprisingly different when it comes to the overall build quality and weight.  I spent some time filming a segment where I take a careful look at the build quality of the new Sigma while comparing it to that of the Tamron.  Take a look!

I also wanted to include a gallery of images of the lens itself.  It is a beautifully made lens that is very easy on the eyes, so it was natural to get a number of a beautiful pictures of the lens’ build itself.

Finally, I think one of the best ways to tell the story of the lens is to share some of the photos that it is producing for me in a variety of situations.  I’ve tried it now in a number of settings, and, other than the weight, I’ve found little to disappoint me.
