Sigma 135mm f/1.8 DG HSM ART Image Gallery
April 19th, 2017
Another long awaited lens from the Sigma ART series has arrived – the new Sigma 135mm f/1.8 ART. It looks nearly identical to the 85 ART, though just a tiny bit smaller in every dimension. Optically it pushes the envelope at the 135mm focal length with a maximum aperture of f/1.8 rather than f/2. This should allow not only for a bit more light (about 1/3rd stop over f/2), but also a slightly more shallow depth of field (great for those full length portraits!). From my early tests there is no question that the 135 ART is sharper than the Canon EF 135mm f/2L; the question will be if it matches or exceeds its beautiful rendering. Check back often for new photos as I review the lens over the next few weeks!
